More workshop dates for October and November will be added soon!

Our willow workshops are a chance for you to learn and develop the skills for making things from willow, like bird feeders, plant supports, wreaths, stars and many more beautiful decorative pieces! This is a remarkably satisfying and rewarding experience. Our workshops enable participants to learn the art of willow weaving and to practise techniques. This is done with the knowledge that all you have to do is turn up and relax. You also get to take something you have made, and are proud of, home with you to enjoy.

How long do the workshops take?

The sessions can vary in length from a couple of hours to a whole weekend. It is also possible to have a series of sessions to enable progressive learning once a week or month, over a defined period of time. The minimum session time is 1 hour for the making of very simple items and 2 to 4 hours for the easier to make items. Depending on the wants of the group, it is possible to make two simple things in one two hour session. Every session is planned for the individual needs of the group.

Where can they be done?

The sessions can be indoors, and outdoors in good weather without a covered space. Each participant requires a seated area ideally with a table to work at.

How many people can take part?

The group size would normally be from 4 to a maximum of 12, though the maximum can be extended with the presence of a dedicated competent extra. This person cannot be at the session as a participant.

Who can be taught?

Youth clubs/groups, Primary school classes P5 to 7, Secondary school classes, (it is especially good for groups with extra support needs), Voluntary Sector Projects, Gardening groups, Community groups, Scouts, Girl Guides and Boys Brigade, Retreat groups and many more.

What do the sessions cost?

Session costs are dependant on the number of participants, the location and the project being made. Sessions start at a minimum of £120 and travel costs depending on the distances and number of sessions involved in the booking.

Session costs include all Willow.

We also run workshops for Retreat Groups!

These sessions can be a creative part of the retreat. Retreat participants can practise mindfulness whilst unleashing their creativity! Feedback from previous retreats has been fantastic, with participants saying -

" I didn't think I'd be able to make something so nice! I'm so proud of myself."

" This was a brilliant way to spend an afternoon - and I have a reminder of my retreat experience that will go in my garden."
